International Symposium

Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms and New Therapeutic Concepts in Transplantation

Dear colleagues,

We would like to invite you to the International Symposium “Cellular and molecular mechanisms and new therapeutic concepts in transplantation” organized by five German Collaborative Research Centers (SFB738 “Optimization of conventional and innovative transplants”, Integrated Research and Treatment Center Transplantation (IFB-Tx), Clinical Research Goup KFO 243 “Early immunological determinants of late transplant outcome”, Transregio SFBTRR127 “Biology of xenogeneic cell and organ transplantation”, SFB 650 “Cellular approaches to a suppression of unwanted immune reactions – from bench to bedside”), the European “The ONE study” and the Charité Berlin. The meeting will be held on 29 and 30 November 2017 in Hannover in the Old Town Hall (Altes Rathaus) next to the famous and traditional Hannover Christmas market.

We aim in bringing together national research activities in the field of immunology, regulatory immune responses, xenotransplantation, stem cell transplantation, cell- & gene therapy, new innovative grafts, biomarkers and clinical trials. The meeting is addressed to basic scientists, translational researchers and physicians interested in understanding mechanisms of immune activation and its regulation in the context of transplantation medicine. The topics presented will stretch from basic science to bedside and back. We are happy that fourteen internationally renowned speakers will contribute to the scientific discussion as well as 28 speakers from our national collaborative research centers. The congress fee is sponsored by the collaborative research centers to enable the participation of numerous scientists and students. We encourage participants to submit a poster for our poster session on the evening of 29 November 2017.

We are sure that you will enjoy the atmosphere of the surroundings and we are convinced that a lively scientific debate will take place.

We hope to welcome you in Hannover in November 2017,
